Let’s talk about SEX!
…in case you can’t view the video or would rather read what I have to say here is the text:
Sex is a natural and intimate part of our lives. So why is it that many women come to see me and say they don’t like sex or don’t want it? This isn’t entirely one sided, men also have opened up and stated that they could care less about sex too. The major reason is men and women don’t like sex is they have low libido. So how can you increase this?
- STOP obsessing over it and get over it! With our busy lives we are trying to fit sex in and sex is best not scheduled but spontaneous. If you schedule it in you may end up with “performance” anxiety. We are busy people, going to work, running the kids around, getting to this event and then that meeting…it is hard to find time to be intimate. So don’t think about it and just let it happen if it does.
- Time for a “DATE NIGHT”. Yes, married couples have dates too! This gets you out of the hustle and bustle and spending time with each other which is the start of being intimate!
- Have a Glass of Wine or a Beer!! Sometimes alcohol will relax you enough to lower your inhibitions and be a little freer with your feelings. If you don’t drink then find something that will allow you to relax and be open with your partner.
- Step outside your comfort zone. If you are always doing it in the bedroom change the scenery (if you can)…like the couch. Or go away for the weekend and stay at a hotel where you are not going to be disturbed by a million and one things. Getting away can be liberating…so have fun with it!
- Make sure it has nothing to do with your hormone levels. If you had a healthy sex drive and you don’t now then get those hormones tested!
- You may also want to check your iron levels, low iron can contribute to being tired all the time, having headaches, and being irritable.
- See a HOMEOPATH…if none of this works and you want to be intimate with your partner…make an appointment! What is it going to hurt? Your partner may send me a “Thank you” note (I have had numerous)!
Sex is a part of our lives, and a part of this society. So if you are not having sex, you are missing out on some FUN!

What is a Normal period?
…in case you can’t view the video or would rather read what I have to say here is the text:
I find many women think they have a normal cycle but they really don’t. So let’s go over what a “normal” cycle should be.
- A typical cycle is starts anywhere from 21 – 28 days. That means that you can have two cycles in one month and that it is normal.
- You were meant to bleed for a good 3 – 4 days. That means day and night.
- The colour of your bleed should be bright red and not a dark reddish brown.
- You should not be spotting prior to your cycle.
- Clots are normal but should be no larger than a loonie/twoonie.
- You should be changing your pad or tampon 3 – 4 times a day and that is because they are full, not just for hygiene purposes.
- Your bleeds should not smell. If there is a foul odour to them it is probably due to an overgrowth of yeast in your body. Now when blood mixes with oxygen it does have a minimal odour to it but it should not be detectable by others.
- You should feel pressure from either your right or left side during ovulation. This is telling you which ovary is releasing the egg.
- Did you know that we are born with all our eggs and once they are all released that indicates we are in Menopause (a whole other topic).
- Typical PMS symptoms are not normal! You should not have breast tenderness that you have to wear a bra to bed to protect them. You should not have painful bleeds that keep you from doing your daily activities. During your cycle or prior to, you should not be irritable beyond what you “normally” are!
So if you are not experiencing “normal” cycles I suggest that you find a great Homeopath, like myself, that can help you with these issues so that you are able to go through your period like it was a “normal” day.

Getting pregnant can be easy for some and a difficult emotional problem for others. Here are some basic and easy facts that you need to know if you are trying to conceive:
- Know your Cycle!
When do you ovulate? What is ovulation? Well it is typically 10 -14 days after your first bleed (day one of your period). However, you could have an atypical cycle and you could ovulate on day 6 or day 22 so knowing your cycle is key to conceiving! Most common sign of ovulation is the increase of discharge and the colour change from white to a yellowish discharge that you will find on your liner of in your underwear.
- Don’t have sex every day!
Guys you need to reserve your sperm! It is best to have sex every other day starting at day 6 (after your first bleed, so you may still be bleeding), day 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16. Then take a rest! It takes 1 million sperm to break down the protective barrier surrounding the egg and then only one to infiltrate the egg so you can get pregnant! That is a lot of sperm!
- Lubrication.
First off if you are dry that means there is not enough mucous and your egg may not be able to implant. So it is necessary to increasing mucous or your uterus will not be able to protect the egg. If you are dry in the vaginal area then sex can be painful. In this case most couples use a lubricant. Careful of the lubricant that you use…KY Jelly a common lube is a sperm antagonist and therefore will not help you conceive. Instead use a natural product such as slippery elm or any other natural lubes that are safe for conceiving.
- Do you have a HOSTILE environment??
Are you constantly getting a yeast infection? Or a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)? If so, then you have a “hostile environment” for sperm! That needs to be corrected immediately and the best way to do that is to go on a strict Candida Diet for a good 6 weeks (maybe longer if it hasn’t improved). That means no sugar and no yeast!
I hope that these tips will help you in your quest to have a baby. If you are still having trouble conceiving then as Liz would say “ring me up”! I now have an excellent protocol in which to help you conceive!

Why is the bed wet??
…in case you can’t view the video or would rather read what I have to say here is the text:
Nocturnal Enuresis, or more commonly known, as bedwetting, is very common for children up until the age of 6. It affects more boys than girls.
Common reasons as to why it happens past the age of 6 years
- Genetics – if Mom or Dad had this problem when they were young this may play a factor in your child’s night time problem.
- Juvenile Diabetes – if there are no bedwetting issues in the family then consider checking the family history for diabetes.
- Emotions/stress – just because a child is not exhibiting emotional problems doesn’t mean that they couldn’t present a physical problem such as bedwetting. If your child is being emotional or stressed due to a death in the family, a divorce, a new sibling, a move, or whatever the case may be they can have bedwetting issues.
- UTI- Urinary Tract Infection can also be a possible reason for bedwetting.
- Allergies – consider that your child could have allergies that are affecting their bladder at night time. The most common allergy is to milk. Cut it out for a month and see how your child does.
What to do to reduce the occurrence of bedwetting under the age of 6:
- Reduce the amount of liquids given to your child. In my practice I tell them no liquids past 7 pm.
- Encourage your child to pee before bed. Let it be the last thing they do before they go to sleep.
- Keep a night light on in the hall and the bathroom to light the path so that they are not scare when they wake up to go pee.
- Before you (parents) go to bed wake your child up to go pee. Especially, if they are peeing at the beginning of falling asleep.
What can you do for treatment?
- There are alarm triggers that wake your child as they start to pee during the night. This is meant to train them to recognize the trigger that they have to go to the bathroom and wakes them out of a deep sleep.
- There are medications, however, the medications have side effect so I strongly suggest you check them out.
- HOMEOPATHY…now there’s a shocker! There are some homeopathic remedies that help with bedwetting.
Remember this is not their fault. So remain calm and never blame them. They feel bad enough that they can’t sleep through the night without wetting the bed. You want to boost their self-esteem not destroy it. So act as if there is nothing wrong.

So your child is ready for a BIG bed are YOU?
…in case you can’t view the video or would rather read what I have to say here is the text:
Well some of you may not like to hear what I am going to say but it needs to be said. If your child is ready for a big bed why aren’t you?
Tip #1…Be a PARENT!!
What do I mean by that…well I hear it all the time “I don’t believe in letting my child cry”. Really! So are you telling me that if your child gets hurt they won’t cry? Or if they are sad they won’t cry? Crying is a natural way to release frustration, anger and show emotion. Emotions are GOOD!! Thus crying is good.
So get a backbone and be a parent. Don’t let your child tell you what to do, you have lived longer and have experienced more than them. I’m telling you it is time to take control because if you don’t you will regret it when they are teens.
Now this means they may not like you when you tell them firmly “It is time for bed”. But you are not their friend you are their parent. Don’t give in and say oh it is ok you can stay up 15 minutes longer and that 15 minutes turns into an hour. In the morning you may be wondering why your child is unable to wake up!
Tip #2…Stick to a routine.
Children need routines. It helps them understand what is expected of them. So if you haven’t established a bedtime routine…start now. Warn your child that they are going to be going to bed in a half hour or after bath. By communicating what is about to happen, your child knows what to expect. This doesn’t mean they will like it.
If the routine is the same they will get use to it and going to bed will be easier on all of you!
Tip #3…Involve your child in the bed process
Your child is ready for the big bed because he or she indicated they were or you are having another child and you need the crib for the baby. Whatever the reason it is time for the big bed.
Involve your child in a few decisions about the bed, such as the bedding colours either the comforter or the sheets, buying a new pillow for the bed, or decorating the top of the bed. By involving your child in the process it makes them feel part of this momentous occasion.
Tip #4…Now implement!
You are now being a parent, you have established a bedtime routine, and you’ve involved your child in some of the big bed process, now it is time for your child to sleep in the big bed.
Start this adventure on a weekend that you have nothing going on, or during your vacation time so that you are able to endure what needs to be done and not worry about any other stressors.
You put your child to bed shut off the lights and leave the room. Park yourself outside their room and wait. This is a new experience for your child as there are no railings keeping them in the bed! Inevitably, but not always, your child will get out of bed and want to find you. Pick up your child and in a firm but loving voice state “It is time for bed” and place the child back in their bed.
Your child may think this is a game and continue to do this. Remain calm and firm in your voice as you repeat over and over “It is time for bed”. Once they understand that this is not a game they may become upset and you need to be the parent and be firm but loving.
This can go on for hours but eventually they will fall asleep. When they wake up praise them for being a big boy or girl and tell them they did a great job sleeping in their bed. Children love positive praise so find something positive to say. Understand that you need to repeat this process again tonight and the next night but eventually your child will get it and the amount of time that you spend parked outside their door will be less and less each night.
Ah progress! Your child should be sleeping in their bed without getting out in three to seven days.
Happy Easter

“Why YOU should not drink pop!”
..in case you can’t view the video or would rather read what I have to say here is the text:
Why YOU should not drink pop!
Ok this is a common question I ask all my patients. How much pop do you drink? And inevitably my patient’s look at me and with a look that says “I know pop is not good for me BUT…” Well they are right. POP is NOT good for you and here are some brief reasons why.
- Pop is loaded with High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)which is a sweetener that is metabolized to fat in your body more rapidly than sugar. HFCS has a negative effect on your metabolism.
- Pop is loaded with sugar which can lead to obesity.
- The obesity can lead to onset type II diabetes.
- Pop contains phosphoric acid and sodium and this can contribute to brittle bones which can lead to osteoporoses.
Children should never be given pop:
- Pop can restrict bone growth due to the sodium and phosphoric acid.
- It erodes the enamel on children’s baby teeth, which can lead to periodontal problems and issues with the adult teeth.
- Too much pop contributes to obesity.
- Pop that contains caffeine dehydrates. If your child drinks one can of pop 355ml than you need to give them 710ml of water just to keep their hydration balanced. This is true for adults as well!!
Now drink DIET pop and we have opened a new can of worms!! Aspartame is found in many food products and our bodies don’t recognize it. So over time there is a build up of this toxin within our bodies that we are unable to expel. Some of the side effects of aspartame are:
- Headaches
- Insomnia
- G.I. tract disorders
- Loss of energy
- Depression
Those that think they are going to lose weight by drinking a diet pop better do the research. There is NO proof that diet pop helps with weight lose! In fact it is just the opposite…Aspartame tricks the mind in thinking it is not full and therefore you eat more!
So what can you drink beside “boring” water…try a mineral water. Squeeze lemon or lime in it and it is a refreshing drink that is not loaded with “crap” and will quench your thirst. For kids try a flavoured Stevia to the mineral water and you have a new fizzy drink that won’t harm them and is natural and non-caloric.
What is Stevia? It is a plant in the Chrysanthemum family and is 200-300 times sweeter than sugar. It is natural and you need very little to sweeten your coffee, tea or any other drinks. So look for natural solutions to quench your thirst. The best is water…it is cheap and will hydrate your body!
Quick Tip!
Stevia is also great for canker sores! Dab liquid Stevia on your finger and rub on the canker sore. It goes away in day or two. REALLY!
Feel like you are in a FOG?

Spring Allergies
Here is a great Article written by Lisa Decandia, DSHomMed, HD, RCSHom, MSc(Can) about allergies and what you should consider.
For people with allergies, symptoms occur when the body’s immune system overreacts to substances in the environment. The immune system is overwhelmed and responds in an “over-reactive” way to whatever the allergen is. Pollens, dust mites, animal dander and other inhaled allergens are more associated with upper respiratory allergies. Most common upper respiratory tract allergy symptoms involve the nose, throat, eyes and ears.
Symptoms include sneezing, runny or stuff nose, itchy and watery eyes, as well as itching of the throat, roof of the mouth and ears. Standard treatment could include antihistamine, decongestants and desensitization shots.
Re-Balancing the immune system may help reduce the symptoms. You may want to consider adding some Vitamin A to your diet. Vitamin A protects against colds, flus, infection of kidneys, bladder, lungs and acts as an. It guards against heart disease and stroke and can lower your cholesterol levels. It also slows the aging process!!!!
Deficiency of Vitamin A can cause dry hair, dry skin, and dryness of conjunctiva, insomnia, fatigue, sinusitis, pneumonia, respiratory infections, and frequent colds.
Beta-Carotene gets converted into Vitamin A and good sources of Beta-Carotene are: Animal livers, fish liver oils, green and yellow fruits and vegetables. Apricots, asparagus, beet greens, broccoli, cantaloupe, carrots, collards, dandelion, garlic, kale, mustard greens, papayas, peaches, pumpkin, red pepper, spinach, yellow squash, lemongrass, parsley, peppermint, and watercress.
It is best to use food sources as opposed to supplements for Vitamin A.
You may also consider Vitamin C to re-balance your immune system. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant required for tissue growth and repair, adrenal function, and healthy gums. It helps to prevent cancer and prevent infection. It also increases the absorption of iron, reduces the bad cholesterol while increasing the good cholesterol, lowers high BP and prevents atherosclerosis. Vitamin C works with Vitamin A to have an even greater effect on the immune system.
Deficiency of Vitamin C can cause bleeding of the gums when brushing, susceptibility to infections such as colds and bronchial infections, joint pains, lack of energy, poor digestion, prolonged wound healing time, tendency to bruise easily and tooth loss.
Sources: berries, citrus fruits, green vegetables, asparagus, avocados, beet greens, black currants, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cantaloupe, dandelion greens, grapefruit, lemons, mangos, onions, oranges, papayas, green peas, sweet peppers, pineapple, radishes, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes, alfalfa, fennel seed, parsley and rose hip.
Caution: if you are pregnant or use aspirin, see your health care practitioner.
There are many homeopathic remedies for those nasty allergy symptoms. So find a Homeopath that can work with you and your symptoms and get back to enjoying the SPRING.

So why can’t you speak?
…in case you can’t view the video or would rather read what I have to say here is the text:
So why can’t you speak?
Sore throats are a nightmare to have. They can prevent you from being able to function properly and get a good night sleep. So when do you need to visit the family doctor and when can you deal with this on your own?
Virus vs. Bacterial:
Most cases of sore throats are viral. This means you contracted a virus and more than likely your body will be able to heal itself and get back to normal in a few days. When we are talking about a bacterial infection you more than likely have STREP throat. This is an infection contracted from the streptococcal bacteria and is highly contagious.
In order to tell whether your sore throat is viral or bacterial doctors will do a throat swab and if it is bacterial they will prescribe an anti-biotic. Please note that if an anti-biotic is prescribed please buy some acidophilus and/or pro-biotics to replace the good bacteria that is killed off by the anti-biotics you are taking.
So what can you do to help your sore throat:
Gargle with salt water. Mix 8oz of warm water with ½ – ¼ tsp of salt and allow it to dissolve. Throughout the day gargle with the mixture. Salt will help reduce the swelling in the mucus membranes and provide temporary relief.
For ADULTS only…mix equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water (cold or room temperature NEVER warm or hot as this changes the hydrogen’s stability and will burn your throat) and gargle with this. Never give to children as they tend to swallow what they are told to gargle with and this is not digestible.
Gargle with Colloidal Silver water. Silver has great healing properties and will nip that sore throat in the “butt”.
And finally…there are Homeopathic remedies that work!! I never recommend self prescribing, especially; if this is a chronic condition (occurs regularly). However, there are remedies in my Children and Family Homeopathic Remedy Kits that address this issue if it is an acute (a short term illness that does not occur on a regular basis).
I would like your suggestions on how you deal with sore throats naturally or even your comments…so continue to comment on my blog/email/Facebook/tweet me your suggestions and I will incorporate them in my video series.
